February 2016 Luncheon
At $215M, the recently-completed Miami Harbor Federal Navigation Deepening Project was the largest dredging project in the United States and the first to deepen a U.S. port to accommodate Post-Panamax shipping. Project features included the removal of over 5 million cubic yards of material, combined with advanced environmental mitigation components creating new reef habitat and the largest seagrass restoration area at a single site in the USA. The presentation by the Corps of Engineers will go over the successes and challenges experienced during construction.
