Speaker: Joe Miller, Senior Director Facilities Development

Joe Miller joined JAXPORT as Senior Director, Facilities Development in January of 2010. Miller has more than 30 years of leadership experience with complex organizations including the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the City of Jacksonville.

Miller spent 26 years in the Army, serving as Commander of the 20th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division in Fort Hood, Texas, Executive Assistant to the Director of Army Facilities and Housing at the Pentagon and later the Chief of the Army’s Infrastructure Review and Analysis team.

Assigned to the Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1996, he was soon promoted to serve as the Jacksonville District Engineer and Commander, leading all federal civil works engineering and construction activities for Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Miller was the Director of Public Works for the City of Jacksonville (2000-2002) and then joined Weston Solutions, Inc., an infrastructure redevelopment firm as Army Business Program Manager.

He holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Arts from Webster College, a Master of Science from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
