Strengthening Cyber Resilience with the CMMC
Essential Updates and Strategies for the Defense Industrial Base

Presentation Abstract
This presentation discusses the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), focusing on the latest regulatory updates, timelines, and strategic considerations for organizations within the Defense Industrial Base. It explores the three-level CMMC framework—from foundational Level 1 self-assessmentsto advanced Level 2 certifications and expert-level validations under Level 3—alongside key requirements, scoping considerations, and plan-of-action and milestone (POA&M) parameters. Additional topics cover best practices for managing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), collaborating with External Service Providers (ESPs), and meeting critical documentation requirements. The session also addresses supply chain risk management and practical strategies for designing secure architectures, providing guidance to align cybersecurity efforts with evolving DoD expectations.

Helpful PDH Information

It was brought to our attention that some boards of professional engineers (e.g., Florida) have a requirement to include in PE CEU documentation to provide both the topic but also the name of the instructor/presenter.  As such, the attached contains that information for SAME Jax Post meetings from 2023 to present.
