Member Spotlight of the Month: Dawn M. Brown

What company / organization do you work for and what is your job title? 

I work for Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southeast as 
an Assistant Deputy Director for Small Business. I have been with NAVFAC since 
2003 in NAS Great Lakes, North Chicago, IL.

What are your volunteer roles for the Jacksonville Post? 

I have been a participated on many events as requested. I thoroughly enjoy so many events with Elizabeth May – SAME JAX Rocks! I am now the current vice chair for Communications working with the fabulous Brian Murphy! It is so exciting about participating in more activities.

Where did you attend college? What did you study?  

I attended the Carthage College, Kenosha, WI and graduated Magna Cum Laude 2003 with a degree in Bachelor in Marketing. I went to American Graduate University, Covina, CA and graduated with a Master in Acquisition Management degree in 2006.

How long have you been a member of the Jacksonville Post? 

I have been a member of the Jacksonville Post for approximately 5 years.

What’s your favorite Jacksonville Post memory?

My favorite memory of JAX Post is Industry Day events SAME Industry Events 29-31 OCT 2019. That week included Joint Golf, UNF Industry Day, and NAVFAC Southeast Open House to provide fantastic memories of meeting wonderful people combined with establishing relationships that I have built with others in many events are what reflect my favorite things about SAME. 

What do you like to do in your free time?  

Things that take time I’ve never considered “free time” is just fun. I enjoy watching sports i.e. football, hockey, baseball; movies; reading; visiting with my fabulous two adult children Alex & Chelsea; and hanging out with wonderful friends.
