SAME Jax Member Spotlight: Michael Holm, PE
Construction Services Regional Practice Leader with Halff Associates, Inc

What company do you work for and what is your job title?
Halff Associates, Inc / Vice President
What are your volunteer roles for the Jacksonville Post?
Current: Sustaining Member Committee, Industry Day Committee, Golf Event Chair
Past: Sustaining Member, Young Member, Jr. Vice President, Director
Where did you attend college? What did you study?
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute Indiana – Civil Engineering
How long have you been a member of the Jacksonville Post?
Since 1999 – Joined at Fort Campbell, KY as part of the USACE Louisville District
What’s your favorite Jacksonville Post memory?
My first meeting in the Sustaining Member Committee – I had just moved to Jacksonville (2002), fresh out of the Army as a young Project Engineer, and Todd Schmidt pulled me along to a SAME Sustaining Member Meeting and "volun-told" the committee that I would be leading the Annual Ken Butrym College Scholarship Golf Tournament. I eagerly accepted the challenge and from there formed lasting relationships and mentors within SAME.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Well with 4 kids and a busy, working wife, I spend most of my free time as an Uber Driver in training while I enjoy watching my kids do their thing(s). After that it’s golf, softball, trying to get a workout in, and dating my wife. (not necessarily in the order) 😊
What is your favorite quote?
“You are what you eat” maybe it’s just a saying… but I tell my kids that it's not just about the food, it’s about everything you take in (read, see, hear, and experience)- make your life varied and healthy.
