Our Next Meeting: September 9 with NAVFAC Southeast
Join us for an insider’s look at one of the most significant transformations of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) in decades. This presentation will examine the Navy’s evolving “Big Acquisition” approach, the centralization of acquisition functions, and the shift toward portfolio-based contracting strategies designed to accelerate project delivery and improve mission outcomes.
Attendees will gain insight into:
- How NAVFAC organizations are being restructured to emphasize post-award execution
- Upcoming architect-engineer and construction opportunities throughout the Southeast
- What these organizational and contracting changes mean for industry partners
The session will conclude with highlights from the 2026 Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) National STEM Camp and a preview of plans for 2027.

Last Call: Volunteer for SAME JAX Industry Day
The Jacksonville Post is seeking volunteers to support our upcoming Industry Day, February 16–18, 2027. Industry Day is one of our Post’s most important opportunities to bring together government, military, industry, and emerging professionals for meaningful conversations, professional development, and relationship-building. A successful event depends not only on its speakers and program, but also on engaged volunteers who help create a welcoming and well-organized experience for everyone attending. We especially encourage young professionals, early-career employees, and those who are new to SAME to get involved.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
- Registration and attendee support
- Speaker assistance
- Exhibitor coordination
- Room and session support
- Setup and event logistics
- General hospitality
Assignments will be coordinated in advance, and volunteers will receive the information and direction needed to succeed in their roles.
